Description
The Cordes Dinner honors an individual who has given time, experience and expertise to Fort Bend Regional Council (FBRC). The Honoree for 2016 is Dr. Charles Dupre, Superintendent of Fort Bend I.S.D. and an advocate for substance abuse issues. David and Marion Young are our Honorary Chairs; Roberta Avery and Dr. Betty Baitland are co-chairing the event. The FBRC Award Dinner was founded to honor Helen Cordes for her generous community spirit and many community achievements. Helen served on the Fort Bend Regional Council?s Board of Directors from 1991 ? 1997 and was President from 1992 ? 1995. During that time and long afterward, Helen served FBRC with such a sincere passion for our mission that she inspired all who had the privilege of working with her. Proceeds are used to further our efforts to restore families and break the cycle of addiction, as well as build coping skills in Fort Bend students so they won?t fall victim to substance abuse. We expect the event to be exceptional, with 300-350 people in attendance. There will also be a short video and Silent Auction. Yolanda Green, formerly with Channel 39 and host of ?Outlook? will be our emcee.
